the FAQs
Q. Where are you located?
I am located in downtown Ojai at:
530 W Ojai Ave, Ste 205,
Ojai, CA 93023
All in-person meetings are by appointment only.
Q: Do you conduct in-person and online meetings?
Yes. I offer in-person and secure online psychotherapy for California residents, where I am licensed.
For those outside California or internationally, I offer consultation and mentorship, rather than therapy, in accordance with licensing laws.
All meetings are by appointment only.
Q. Are you currently accepting new clients?
At this time, my psychotherapy practice is full, and I am not taking on new therapy clients. I am also unable to take on new insurance-based clients.
If you are a private-pay client who feels aligned with my approach, you are welcome to send an inquiry, and I will reach out if an appropriate opening becomes available. Please note that openings are limited and may not occur immediately.
For more immediate availability, I encourage you to explore other trusted psychotherapists listed on Psychology Today.
Q. What are your fees and do you take insurance?
My standard fee is $225 for a 60-minute session.
I remain in-network with Anthem and Aetna solely for my existing clients.
As my practice evolves, I am no longer able to take on new insurance-based clients, and any new openings are for private-pay clients who feel aligned with this depth-oriented work.
If you prefer use insurance, I encourage you to reach out to other in-network providers who may be able to support you more promptly.
Q. Do you see children in your practice?
While I don’t work directly with children in therapy, I do offer early childhood consultation to support parents, caregivers, and professionals seeking guidance in nurturing emotional development during the early years.
Q. What is ISTDP?
ISTDP stands for Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy. It’s a powerful and focused approach that helps uncover the emotional patterns — often unconscious — that can keep us stuck in anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties.
Rather than just managing symptoms, ISTDP gently and collaboratively helps you get to the heart of what’s going on underneath. Through this process, you can start to feel more connected to yourself, more free in your relationships, and more grounded in your life.
Everyone’s pace is different, and the work unfolds in a way that respects your readiness and capacity. It’s not about pushing - it’s about making space for real, meaningful change.
Q. What can I expect in the first session?
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting clear about the core emotional problem that’s bringing you in. Rather than starting with a full personal history, we’ll stay close to what feels most emotionally pressing or difficult right now — what you’re struggling with and what you want help with.
This focused approach allows us to begin working right away in a way that’s attuned, respectful, and grounded in your present experience. Your history may come into the work over time, as it naturally becomes relevant to what you’re working through.
Q. How often do we meet?
I typically meet with clients once a week, as consistent sessions provide the foundation for meaningful therapeutic progress.
We’ll continue meeting weekly for as long as it feels useful and supportive in addressing the concerns that brought you in. When the work feels more complete, we’ll begin a thoughtful process of winding down and bringing our time to a close together.
Q. What happens after the 20-minute free consultation?
If we decide to move forward, I’ll schedule your first appointment and then provide you with intake forms and information through a secure online client portal. Once the forms are completed, we’ll be ready to begin our work together.
